About This GameRookfall is a charming puzzle game where the player controls a rook stuck in purgatory. Move over the tiles and watch them plummet into the abyss. Drop all the tiles, and you’ve conquered the puzzle.
HistoryRookfall began as the final project of University student Michael Bunger with recent graduate Ronald M. Burgess. The goal in mind was to create a quick-to-play puzzle that could be procedurally generated and deliver a short yet fun, mind-stimulating game with an abundance of content. Rookfall's core mechanic originated from a mini-game in Amanita Design’s Machinarium. By iterating through various additional mechanics, the dynamic duo decided the inclusion of walls was ideal for a compelling experience.
After graduating, the pair continued development and after several aesthetic and theme shifts, the rook in purgatory surfaced as not only the most thematically powerful but the most time and cost effective as well. This game has been one massive learning experience for both Mike and Ron, and it’s their pleasure to share it with everyone! Game Features- 300 Mind-Stimulating levels.
- 3 different puzzle board sizes, increasing in puzzle difficulty and complexity. - Progression system that evolves the appearance of the rook. - The 6 most important colors of the rainbow! - Hours of reality-ignoring goodness. |
